Where can I open a Summit Coffee franchise?

Currently, Summit is awarding franchises in North and South Carolina. By the end of 2022, we anticipate expanding our focus to several new markets. At present, we are legally allowed to sell franchises in: Alabama Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vermont,  Washington D.C., West Virginia, Wyoming. See available communities here.

How much does it cost to open a franchise?

It depends on your buildout, but our best estimates project between $150,000 - $350,000. (check out the numbers in more detail here.) Contact our team to access more financial information.

How long does it take to open a store?

We advise stores to open within 9 months of signing a franchise agreement. We expect Franchise Partners to have a signed lease by 60 days. If the space requires little buildout, the turnaround for opening could be expedited.

What is Summit looking for in a franchisee?

We want people who are passionate about coffee and community! Summit’s reputation is based on using our great products to bring people together, and we want creative, optimistic people who are excited to make an impact on a local level while maintaining a core focus on quality.

What support will I receive from Summit?

Lots! We will walk you through the entire process, from finding a café site and signing a lease, through buildout and training, up to the Grand Opening and ongoing support going forward. Learn more about the support we give our Franchise Partners here.

How can I find the right location for a Summit café?

Location is paramount to your success, and we’ll do everything in our power to help you find the perfect spot. We have detailed demographic support to evaluate target markets, and then will have boots on the ground touring spaces until we both agree on where to put the next great Summit!

How many employees does it take to run a Summit?

It depends on the size, scope, and revenue volume of your operation. Summit strongly recommends at least two employees working at a time, which should lead to a staff of about 8-12 people.

Does Summit help with funding?

We do not directly, but we work with third-party lenders who can help set you up with a package to help get your doors open!

Where do I get my supplies from?

As a Franchise Partner, you’ll have exclusive access to Summit Coffee’s entire roasting catalog at a Summit-family price. You’ll also source several other goods and products from Summit directly, including tea, merchandise, and other branded products. Outside of those items, Summit has a preferred vendor to handle all of your supply chain needs.
